HERNE BAY YOUTH GIRLS U14 & U12

Herne Bay Youth Football Club

is pleased to announce the creation of two girls teams for season 2008/2009.

Pre-season training is now under way on a Saturday morning, 10am at The Cherry Orchard in Herne. The current age groups are U12/11, school years 6 & 7 in September 2008 who will take part in 'mini soccer' 7-a-side matches and U14/13, school years 8 & 9 in September 2008 who will compete in 11-a-side matches.

We will be holding training sessions until the start of the school summer break and also intend in that period to play friendly games and to enter local girls football tournaments. Further details of these games can be found on the girls match page.

We will be joining the relevant East Kent Youth League for season 2008/2009 with games taking place on a Sunday morning at 11am. Although our home ground is yet to be confirmed, it will more than likely be Herne Bay High School.

The latest training session took place at Cherry Orchard on Saturday 7th June and even accounting for the weather was again well attended. Click Here for training photos. We now have 20 girls who turn up to training on a regular basis but we still have vacancies for girls in all age groups particularly current school years 5 & 8. If you are interested in joining then please contact the club via the contact details shown, or just turn up at Cherry Orchard on a Saturday morning.

Please ensure that you bring suitable footwear for the weather conditions and plenty to drink. Shin Pads must be worn at all times, any girls not wearing shin pads will be unable to take part in the mini matches that take place during the training session.
